Legal Catholic Wedding Documents

To get married in Legal Catholic Wedding ceremony couple should submit:

Indonesian citizen documents:
– Copy of ID/KTP/Passport
– Birth certificate
– Divorce certificate (if applicable)
– Death certificate (if applicable)
– Letter N1-N4 ( Surat Nikah)
– Baptism certificates reissued not more than 6 months and preferable maximum 3 months prior to your wedding date
– Letter of freedom issued by your Perish Priest or other church official declaring you have never been married and are therefore free to be married through The Catholic church
– Pre-nuptial Inquiry entirely completed signed and stamped by your Perish Priest or other church authority
– Letter of delegation addressed to The Catholic church in Bali declaring that your own Perish has no objection to your marriage ceremony being performanced by a Priest from The Catholic church here in Bali
– Copy of pre-marriage course certificate

Non-Indonesian citizen documents:
– Copy of passport
– Birth certificate
– Divorce certificate (if applicable)
– Death certificate (if applicable)
– Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) – you get this CNI at your embassy or consulate in Indonesia
– Baptism certificates reissued not more than 6 months and preferable maximum 3 months prior to your wedding date
– Letter of freedom issued by your Perish Priest or other church official declaring you have never been married and are therefore free to be married through The Catholic church
– Pre-nuptial Inquiry entirely completed signed and stamped by your Perish Priest or other church authority
– Letter of delegation addressed to The Catholic church in Bali declaring that your own Perish has no objection to your marriage ceremony being performance by a Priest from The Catholic church here in Bali
– Copy of pre-marriage course certificate

Additional document that Bride and Groom should also prepared:
– Copy of detail page of passport/ID/KTP of your two witnesses
– Photographs 4×6 (passport size) – bride and groom together, head and shoulder only and looking straight ahead. Please remember when making this photographs that they will be attached to your wedding certificate and for that reason should be as good as possible

Because of the many rules and regulations related to Catholic marriage, we recommend a minimum of 3 months and advance booking period and we will not give final confirmation of the religious part of the ceremony until such times as all documents required by the Church have been received and checked by the local Church Authorities on your behalf.

Important note about witnesses: At least one witness to a Catholic Wedding Ceremony must be Catholic and blood-relatives such as parents, brothers or sisters may not act as witnesses.
